Chambishi Copper Smelting Co., Ltd. Isaza Furnace's First Furnace Innovation World Furnace Life Record

At 11:30 a.m. local time on May 31, 2011, Fan Min, Deputy General Manager of China Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., a contributing company in Zambia, issued an order to stop the feeding of the IZA furnace. This marks the successful conclusion of the first furnace of the IZA furnace, while the entire company entered a one-month maintenance shutdown.
As the world's first ESA furnace to successfully use domestically-made refractories, Qishishi Copper Smelting Co., Ltd. IZA was ignited from 10:58 on January 20, 2009 to 11:30 on May 31, 2011, and was continuously operated. In 29 months, it created the world's highest record for the first furnace life of the ESA furnace. In the first furnace period of the furnace, a total of 976,000 t of copper concentrate (dry t) was processed, 62,000 tons of cold materials were processed, 336,800 t of qualified blister copper was produced, and 683,000 t of flue gas acid was produced, which surpassed all design criteria.
Chambishi Copper Smelting Co., Ltd. expressed that under the strong support of China Nonferrous Metals Group, it will continue to carry forward the entrepreneurial spirit of “bring forward, constantly surpassing, and striving for excellence”, organize the shutdown inspection and maintenance, and arrange production for the second half of the year. The tasks of the operation and the second phase of the expansion project will make greater contributions to the development of the country and the enterprise.
